Equipment Bookings over the Easter Period

 

For bookings from the Photography and moving image store:

L6/L7  =   Bookings made to be collected from 27/03/26  will default to be returned from the 20/04/26

L5        =    Bookings made to be collected from 30/03/26  will default to be returned from the 20/04/26

L4        =    Bookings made to be collected from 31/03/26  will default to be returned from the 20/04/26

 

All loans booked over the Easter period will default to a return date 20/04/26 when booked.  However, the return date can be altered on collection.  Please specify your preferred day/time when you collect and we will alter the booking accordingly. All loans must be returned by 01/05/26 at the latest.

Studios are available for booking over the Eater period and can be booked on connect 2 in the normal way.

FAQ : Photography and Moving Image Store Equipment Bookings

 

How long can I loan equipment for ?

Level 4 students can loan equipment for 3 days

Level 5 students can loan equipment for 4 days

Level 6/7 students can loan equipment for 1 week

 

Loan periods that end on the weekend will automatically default to be retuned the following Monday.

If you require equipment for longer than the periods shown above then please submit an extended loan form so your request can be reviewed.  This is availible here: Extended Loan Request Form 

 

How much does it cost to borrow equipment ?

There is no charge to borrow equipment.  However students are finacialy liable for loans retuned late.  Students are also liable for any damge or loss incured to the equipment while they have it on loan (see the Equipment Loan Policy for more details on this) 

 

How much are the fines ?

Once a loan is overdue, it is liable for a fine.  Fines are charged at £5 per booking. This fine increases by an additional £5 for each additional 24 hour period until the loan is retuned.

 

Can I extend my loan ?

Loans can be extended, subject to availability. This can be done by emailing bwphotoloans@leeds-art.ac.uk  It is not possible to extend an overdue loan. All overdue loans must be returned to the store and fines paid before any more equipment can be booked.

 

Photography Studio Bookings

 

How do I book a studio ? 

In order to book the studios, students on lens based courses (BA/MA Photography, BA Fashion Photography and BA Filmmaking) will need to attend an in person induction. These are timetabled in at the start of your course.

Students on non les based courses can access the studios by completing an online induction available on our e-studio page here: Non Lens Based Studio Induction

 

How far in advance can I book the studio ?

Level 4 students can book 1 week in advance

Level 5 students can book 2 weeks in advance

Level 6/7 students can book 3 weeks in advance

 

Is it possible to book more than one slot a week ?

All students can book one studio slot per week in advance on Connect2.   However if there is an additional available slot you would like to use within the next 3 working days, email us the details and we will book you in.

Help

Access to equipment booking is a two - step process:

Step 1 - Create an account on our connect 2 site. 

Your account is created the first time you log in. To login in use your normal University login by clicking on the "sign in to your account" box.  then select the  "sign in with your LAU user name"  option. 

Step 2 – Email the resource so we can set up your account

After logging in you will not be able to access equipment straight away as we need to set up your account at our end.  To enable us to do this please email:

bwphotoloans@leeds-art.ac.uk

telling us your:

·      Full name

·      Course

·      Year of Study

It is important that you send this email from your University email as we use this verify your account.
